Dr Omololu (Lolu) Ogunniyi, MD MRCGP Dip BSLM/IBLM

I qualified from Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University, New York in 2005 and achieved membership into the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2015.  I hold a Diploma in Lifestyle Medicine from the International Board of Lifestyle Medicine (2020) and am a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine. I also have some additional training in Functional Medicine principles, having undertaken the Applying Functional Medicine to Clinical Practice course (AFMCP) from the Institute of Functional Medicine.

I’m married to a Business Intelligence whizz, Philip and we have two lovely energetic boys, Bolurin and Layomi. Having travelled and lived in different cities around the world, we’ve called Suffolk home for the last twelve years. I work as an NHS GP in Ipswich and have also served for three years on our local Clinical Commissioning Group, with particular emphasis on self-care and prevention; children, young people, and families; and mental health and wellbeing.

I am interested in helping people understand their health, to look closely at the root causes of illness that must be addressed in order to improve present health and prevent/reduce the risk of future ill-health.  It is important that we realise that we are not powerless in the battle against chronic illness - the choices we make now with regards to our food, physical activity, sleep, relaxation are the building blocks in the house of health we will inhabit in the future. I'm here to help you choose wisely.

I recognise that with the pressures the NHS is under, it is sometimes difficult to get enough time with your GP to discuss your health concerns in detail. The systems we work in sometimes mean you don't get to see the same doctor all the time.  Sometimes the guidelines we follow can seem a bit "one size fits all". This is why at Parakletus Living, you will have plenty of TIME to go through the things that matter to you; CONTINUITY with an experienced clinician qualified to assess and make detailed recommendations, resulting in an INDIVIDUALISED plan for improving your health and quality of life.
